The adorable new emu chicks arrived at the farm on the 9th March 2019 and have been keeping out the cold and wind in our incubation house.
Farmers at Mrs Dowsons are monitoring the chicks weight and diet to make sure they are healthy young chicks!
Mrs Dowsons Farm Park are creating a small herd of emus (a mob of emus) at the farm after the success of last years introduction of the first emu to the farm.
With one male and two females we hope to create a viable breeding group in the future which will be able to support and grow the herd at the farm.
Emus will eventually grow to 6.2ft and are fast curious animals who, due to their hand reared upbringing, are expected to be very friendly to visitors when all grown up.
